We are involved with various community outreach programs. Our cash offering the first and third Sunday goes to area shelters.

We work in conjunction with Mount Zion UMC and provide food for the needy in the northern part of St. Mary's County. Volunteers are always welcome to help bag and sort the food. We accept non-perishable food items and household items like detergents and hygiene items. During the growing season, they will also take fresh produce the day before food distribution days. Food pantry is open Tuesdays and Thursdays until noon at Mount Zion United Methodist Church.

Many thanks to those who contribute year round to our Food Pantry Ministry.  Please do not forget our pantry during the Christmas season.

We also participate in the St. Paul's Sandwich program. A sign up sheet is usually posted on the bulletin board at the church entrance. On the second Tuesday of every month, volunteers bag 40 sandwiches with other non-perishable items. These are given to those that attend the soup kitchen at St Paul's UMC in Leonardtown. More instructions can be found on the bulletin board at the church entrance.

Every year we provide snacks and beverages for the Christmas in April volunteers.  Christmas in April, St. Mary's County, Maryland, Inc. is a local chapter of Rebuilding Together, a national volunteer organization that, in partnership with the community, rehabilitates the homes of low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, so that they may live in warmth, safety, and independence. They also provide help through community projects in St. Mary's County. For more information regarding this organization, go to

For our 2011 Christmas Outreach we collected toys for local families. We collected loose change which will be sent to the Friends of The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem. The money will go towards medical care and educating poverty stricken children in the middle east.

Twice a year we assemble packages for our men and women serving our country in our armed forces. Packages were mailed out Christmas time.  Thank you to those who contributed towards our soldier care packages this past season. If you have a loved one serving our country please let us know so we can prayerfully support them.
