By Grace Bolton Please direct any special requests or concerns during this month of July to the church office (301) 884-3773 and talk to Marge; or contact our Rector, The Rev’d Erich Junger at 703-881-1556. This would also apply to weddings, funerals and other special services that might arise. The month of July continues with the Sundays after Pentecost. Our summer schedule began on June 27. Rite I with Holy Communion at 8:00 a.m. Rite II with Holy Communion at 9:30 a.m. Social Hour with light snacks will be in the church hall after the 2nd service. Due to popular demand by the children Sunday school will continue through the summer. During the month of June we lost two of our long time parishioners: Edward Stanley Burroughs who died on June 15 at age 73 and then William B. Groome who died on June 19 at age 89. Their funerals and burials took place at All Faith. They will be sorely missed by many and we give thanks for their many years of service and dedication to their families, church and the community. The process of getting an Altar Guild team together is ongoing. Should any of you be interested in being a part of this important ministry, please notify the church office or Grace Bolton at (301)274-3486 as soon as possible. Congratulations to those that were confirmed and/or received into the Episcopal Church at the National Cathedral on June 26. Remember our altar flower sign up chart at the front entrance of the church for any occasions you may wish to remember or celebrate. Please sign your name and leave a phone number at least two weeks ahead so the Altar Guild has time for placing orders. June 13 – In celebration of Jaelyn Phipps 3rd birthday on June 18 by her mother, Jaymie Phipps. June 20 – In loving memory of The Rev. Dale T Cropper, Jr. by his son Adam and family. June 27 – In honor and in loving memory of Bill Groome by his wife Lois and family. |
