Honoring our Veterans: a tribute to the life of June Dyson
June Dyson, a long time member of All Faith, was born and raised as an only child in Rochester, New York. She served during World War 2 in Italy and North Africa. Upon returning to the United States she moved to the New Market area in St Mary’s County and worked at the Patuxent River Base from 1946 – 1973. Although June never had any of her own she loved the neighborhood children, spent a great deal of time with them, and taught them how to swim. June had a wonderful way of accepting life and its challenges. Animals, painting beautiful pictures, and travel were just a few of her passions. For most of June’s adult life she was a serious blood donor and donated on a monthly basis. She also belonged to the NARFE, US Red Cross, Eastern Star, St Mary’s Garden Club, and the American Antique and Art Association.
June lived out her last remaining years at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. She loved the environment and her ashes can be found at Arlington Cemetery.
All Faith would like to thank June for her service to our community and church.
