More Outreach News

Many thanks to those that participate and either donate towards our food pantry in monitory form or non-perishable foods. Currently we are serving in conjunction with Mt Zion UMC approx. 110 families per month. The need is constant and continues to increase. We can always do with more non-perishable food! A special thank you to Girl Scout Troop #4811 for their weekly support contributing food to the pantry.

Christmas in April came and went this year. We were once again privileged to be able to provide water, soda and cookies for several crews. Thanks to Paul Dolinar for orchestrating this outreach. Christmas in April St. Mary's County, Maryland, Inc. is a local chapter of Rebuilding Together, a national volunteer organization that, in partnership with the community rehabilitates the homes of low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly and disabled, so that they may live in warmth, safety, and independence. They also provide help through community projects in St. Mary's County. For more information regarding this organisation:

For our 2009 Christmas Outreach we supported Leah's House, a local homeless shelter for abused women and children.

We also put together care packages for the soldiers on our prayer list. If you have a loved one serving our country please let us know so we can prayfully support them. From time to time we send them care cards. Please contact Alma Rawlings if you are interested in participating in this ministry.

Last but not least...St Paul’s Sandwich Program. The 2010 sign up sheet has been posted on the bulletin board at the church entrance. Thanks to those that have participated and to those that will participate in the upcoming months. If finances are an issue contact the church office as we can reimburse you for expenses on the food.

A BIG THANK YOU to all who participated in our outreach programs. These projects would not be a success if it weren’t for the support of our local community and parishioners.
